EXCLUSIVE: Image Entertainment has acquired U.S. distribution privileges to Lovely Molly, the thriller directed by Blair Witch Project co-director Eduardo Sanchez. The offer is high six figures and also the plan's release a theatrically next spring. Lovely Molly made its debut within the Night time Madness portion of the 2011 Toronto Film Festival. Newcomer Gretchen Lodge plays the title character, a newlywed who returns to her lengthy abandoned home and it is his with frightening memory joggers of her nightmarish childhood that rapidly color her new existence. Mark Ward known as the film “a return and evolution towards the genre that [Eduardo] produced” with Blair Witch. “We anticipate joining up with Haxan and Amber to increase the truly robust transmedia advertising campaign they’ve come up with to create the film a millionaire.” It’s the 2nd significant AFM-timed deal for Image, which on Friday released a distribution relationship with Alamo Drafthouse. “Image’s business thinking and robust infrastructure provide us with an ideal platform to create our film towards the largest audience possible,” stated the producers.
